“On the opening day, it soared to number one”… ‘Superman’ tops the box office

The movie 'Superman' (directed by James Gunn) has debuted at number one at the box office.

'Superman' was released on the 9th. According to the Korea Film Council's integrated computer network for movie ticket sales, it attracted 92,938 viewers on its opening day, with a cumulative audience of 93,949.

It performed well among Hollywood blockbusters. 'Noise' came in second with 50,459 viewers, followed by 'Jurassic World' at third with 48,181 viewers, and 'F1: The Movie' at fourth with 31,493 viewers.

'Superman' also ranked first in real-time ticket reservations, recording 19.8% as of 11 AM on the 10th. In second place was 'Jurassic World' with 14.4%, followed by 'F1: The Movie' with 12.4%. Upcoming movie 'Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint' was in fourth place with 9.7%.

The story of 'Superman' revolves around Superman (played by David Corenswet), considered the most powerful being on Earth, as he battles his arch-nemesis Lex Luthor (played by Nicholas Hoult).

James Gunn wrote and directed the movie, marking his first directorial work since becoming the new head of DC Studios. The American media outlet 'Vulture' praised the film, calling it "the most heartfelt approach among superhero movies released this year."

The CGV Golden Egg Index for 'Superman' stood at 86%. The rating on the American movie and TV series review site Rotten Tomatoes started at 91% but has dropped to 86%.
