Former Democratic Party lawmaker Choi Kang-wook expressed his feelings after receiving a special presidential pardon and restoration of rights on Liberation Day.
On the 12th, Choi stated on his Facebook, "I have received encouragement that exceeds what I deserve," and added, "I will reflect more and live kindly."

Notably, Choi added, "I will never forgive Yoon Duk-mu (the leader of the insurrection, Yoon Seok-youl)." This is interpreted as a strong expression of criticism towards the former president.
