Illegal streaming of the Netflix series 'Squid Game Season 3' (hereafter 'Squid Game 3', written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk) continues in China. Professor Seo Kyung-deok has spoken out about the issue.

On the 4th, Professor Seo pointed out on social media, "'Squid Game 3' is once again creating a global sensation," while highlighting the fact that illegal streaming has become a regular occurrence in China.

According to global OTT tracking site 'FlixPatrol', as of the 3rd, 'Squid Game 3' has maintained its position at number one in the TV show category in 93 countries for seven consecutive days.

Professor Seo noted, "This is truly an amazing record," and criticized that "as of the 3rd, over 21,000 reviews related to 'Squid Game 3' have been posted on Douban, China's largest review site."

Approximately 55,000 people participated in the star rating. He mentioned, “Since Netflix is not officially available in China, it seems that viewers illegally watched 'Squid Game 3' and then left reviews.”

Professor Seo stated, "Illegal streaming has now become a norm in China," adding that "it is even more astonishing that people feel no shame about it." He urged for action from China, emphasizing, "It is time for the Chinese authorities to step in. They must implement strict measures against the illegal activities of their citizens to ensure that such incidents do not occur again."
