The British band Oasis is coming to Korea next year. They announced their visit after reuniting after 15 years.
On the 27th (Korean time), British 'NME' reported, "Oasis will hold a world tour in 2025. In Asia, they plan to perform in Korea and Japan."
Their visit to Korea will be the first in approximately 16 years. They first performed in Korea (at the Olympic Park Olympic Hall in Seoul) in 2006 and held a solo concert in Seoul again in 2009.
Oasis has opened their tour schedule after reuniting. Starting in Cardiff, UK, in July next year, they will hold concerts in Manchester, London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, Ireland.
They will also visit Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, Boston, LA, Mexico City, Melbourne, Sydney, São Paulo, Santiago, and Buenos Aires, meeting local fans.
According to NME, the Oasis side will make additional announcements next week regarding exact performance dates and ticket sales. Global fans are responding enthusiastically.
Oasis is a world-renowned band that led the Britpop movement. They were formed in 1991 and released seven albums, including their debut album 'Definitely Maybe.'
They left numerous hits such as 'Live Forever,' 'Don't Look Back in Anger,' 'Wonderwall,' and 'Champagne Supernova.' They have sold over 90 million records and were called the emperors of Britpop.
However, they disbanded in 2009, reportedly due to conflicts between the Gallagher brothers. Backstage fights and ongoing feuds badly affected the band's continuity.
Noel Gallagher mentioned Korea on his SNS last year. Along with the Taegeukgi (the South Korean flag), he wrote, "See you soon, you beautiful creatures!" They will revisit Korea for the first time in about two years.
