“Not a Dangerous Dog, So No Muzzle Needed”… Woman Stirs Controversy While Walking Three Wolfdogs in Shopping Mall

A woman with three wolfdogs appears at a shopping mall… The controversy over not using muzzles sparks a heated debate among netizens.

Recently, a strong debate has erupted online regarding a woman who entered a large shopping mall with three large dogs. As the video spread, concerns among citizens and the gap in legal responsibility have once again come to the forefront.

On the 14th, multiple online communities shared a video titled "A Woman Walking in a Shopping Mall with Three Large Dogs." In the video, a woman identified as A was seen walking through the mall with three wolfdogs held evenly in both hands. When a citizen who witnessed this asked in surprise, "Aren't they wolves?" A responded, "They are wolfdogs."

Later, A stated on her personal social media that it was her first time bringing all three wolfdogs to the mall, as she visits only once or twice a year. She mentioned, "I planned to look around, but I bought just one pastry and left in 30 minutes."

"Not a dangerous breed," but the controversy continues.

As the video circulated, netizens criticized A's actions, saying, "Entering a shopping mall with three large dogs without muzzles is irresponsible."

In response to those pointing out the lack of muzzles, A argued, "Wolfdogs are not considered dangerous breeds under current law, so there is no obligation to wear muzzles."

She further wrote on her social media, "Wearing muzzles is optional in cases where the breed is not categorized as dangerous," and added, "I will politely decline the unspoken pressure to wear one for the sake of manners."

According to the current Animal Protection Act, the five breeds that are legally required to wear muzzles include Tosa, American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and Rottweiler. Wolfdogs are not included in this list.

"Law may not be broken, but anxiety remains"… Citizens' concerns persist.

Despite A's explanation, citizens' worries have not easily subsided. A typical comment expressed concerns by stating, "The mall is a place visited by people of all ages, from children to the elderly. What if a large dog with wolf ancestry causes an unexpected situation?"

Indeed, comments such as "If the three dogs act unexpectedly, can one woman handle it?" and "Even if muzzles are not legally required, consideration should have been made," followed by, "Just because there was no incident does not mean it is acceptable to adopt a dangerous mindset," and "Actions that may cause anxiety to others should be restrained," continued to show negative reactions.

On the other hand, some netizens supported A's stance. Counterarguments such as "Why make an issue out of it when nothing happened?" "They look well-trained in the video," and "If it's not a legal problem, it should be left to individual judgment," were also quite numerous.
