Writer Noh Hee-kyung, actors Jo In-sung, Han Ji-min, and Chun Woo-hee once again delivered briquettes this year. The volunteer group “Gilbut,” composed of broadcasters, film and theater people, and the international relief organization JTS Korea held the “Love Briquette Sharing Volunteer Activity” on the 7th.
A total of 145 people participated, including writer Noh Hee-kyung and actors Jo In-sung, Han Ji-min, Chun Woo-hee, Kim Byung-ok, Lee Sang-hee, Cho Hye-jung, and Baek Seung-do. They delivered briquettes to residents of Guryong Village in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
They passed briquettes from hand to hand, directly delivering them to 15 households experiencing difficulties with heating during the winter. A total of 3,600 briquettes were donated.
Writer Noh Hee-kyung expressed her gratitude by saying, “I am thankful that we can gather like this to give help,” and added, “I especially loved that it was about sharing warmth with the briquettes. I won’t forget the feeling I had today.” The actors also shared their sentiments, saying, “We hope that with our small gesture today, the residents will have a warm and cozy winter.”
Since 2004, Gilbut has been conducting a JTS street fundraising campaign in Myeong-dong on Children’s Day each year. The year-end briquette volunteer activity began in 2021 and is now in its fourth year.
