The President's Office has established a 'Youth Officer' position dedicated to youth policy and is publicly recruiting one male and one female from the youth aged 19 to 34. The salary for the Youth Officer is expected to be set at a minimum of 33.58 million won.

On the 7th, the President's Office announced on the national civil service recruitment system that it will hire two Youth Officers equivalent to grade 5 in the special appointment category through the 'Presidential Secretariat Career Competitive Recruitment Examination.'

The recruited Youth Officers will be responsible for developing youth policies, improving systems, and operating youth policy platforms to practically enhance the lives of young people.

Youth Officer, Equivalent to Special Appointment Grade 5… Minimum Salary of 33.58 Million Won

Eligibility for application is youth aged 19 to 34 in the Republic of Korea. Those who have completed military service can apply up to a maximum age of 37, depending on the length of service.

If the length of service is less than one year, the age is extended by one year; if it is one year or more but less than two years, the age is extended by two years; and if it is two years or more, the age is extended by three years.

The recruitment process will be conducted through 'blind recruitment,' which does not consider educational background, certifications, or work experience, proceeding solely through document screening and interviews. The document review will assess youth policy proposals, selecting a total of 10 candidates for interviews, with five from each gender, and the final successful candidates will be determined through the interview process.

The youth policy proposal can be based on one of two topics: 'projects among government policies that require changes and improvement proposals' and 'new projects worth pursuing.'

Application Process Conducted Only Through Document and Interview Screening… Applications Accepted from the 14th to the 17th, Final Results Expected in August

Applications can be submitted through the national civil service recruitment system from 9 AM on the 14th to 6 PM on the 17th. Those who pass the document screening will be announced on the 24th, and interviews will take place on the 31st. The final successful candidates are expected to be announced in August.

The salary for the Youth Officer will start at 2,798,500 won per month based on the first step of special appointment grade 5, with various allowances and holiday bonuses included, leading to an estimated minimum of 33.58 million won.

Kang Yoo-jung, spokesperson for the President's Office, explained at a briefing that "the Youth Officer position is aimed at practically designing and promoting youth policies from the perspective of the youth."
