Ahead of the release of his new work, he dropped spoilers about each chapter. On the 2nd, SM Entertainment introduced the new songs from the Seoul chapter. It includes five tracks that reflect Mark's current state.
Overall, the album is upbeat and full of wit. The pre-released songs '+82 Pressin' and '200' are representative examples. 'Journey Mercies' is also included.
Additionally, tracks such as 'Mom's Interlude' and 'Too Much' are part of the Seoul chapter. Mark has transformed the process of fulfilling his dreams as an artist into song.
'Journey Mercies' is a piece that blends R&B vocals with vintage guitar and lo-fi sound synths. The lyrics reflect on the memories left behind at the end of a long journey.
'Mom's Interlude' is a meaningful track that captures a conversation between Mark and his mother. His mother participated in the piano accompaniment of the song, contributing to his solo debut.
'Too Much' is the final track, characterized by its three-dimensional composition. It starts with a piano melody and concludes with alternative sound rhythm instruments, vocals, and drums.
Meanwhile, Mark will release 'The Firstfruit' on the 7th at 6 PM. The album will contain a total of 13 songs, including the title track '1999'.
