On the 9th, SM Entertainment uploaded the performance video for Mark's first solo album 'The Firstfruit' title track '1999' on the NCT YouTube channel.
The video has a duration of about 3 minutes and 42 seconds, visually representing Mark's journey. It features four cities that are themed in the new release: Toronto, New York, Vancouver, and Seoul, incorporated throughout the set.
The atmosphere exuded a pop star mood. Mark stood at the center of the stage, leading a group of dancers. He showcased classical yet witty movements that matched the upbeat pop track.
The performance resembled a musical. His delicate facial expressions stood out, and the shifting formations, along with choreography that intuitively expressed the number 9, added to the dramatic composition and immersion.
'1999' charted high on domestic and international charts immediately after its release. It secured the number one position on the QQ Music 'Digital Album Sales' chart in China and topped the AWA Rising chart in Japan.
Moreover, the new release ranked number one on the iTunes Top Albums chart in 17 regions/countries around the world, including Brazil, Chile, Vietnam, Russia, Thailand, Norway, and Peru.
Meanwhile, Mark will appear on music broadcasts starting on the 10th with Mnet's 'M Countdown', followed by KBS-2TV's 'Music Bank', MBC-TV's 'Show! Music Core', and more.
