Producer Jun-ho Ham from SBS has issued a belated apology regarding assault charges. On the 26th, SBS released a Q&A related to the finale of 'My Perfect Secretary' (written by Ji Eun, directed by Jun-ho Ham and Jae-hong Kim). Producer Jun-ho Ham responded to a series of questions.
First, he indirectly referred to an incident from five years ago. Expressing "gratitude and apology," he admitted to causing trouble due to a "significant mistake made in the past."
Producer Jun-ho Ham stated, "I regretted and felt ashamed every day for five years," and added, "From the moment I was assigned to direct until the end, I only focused on doing my best."
He promised not to repeat the same mistake. "Witnessing the love for the work, I vowed to become a slightly better person," he said.
He continued, emphasizing his duty to the viewers, actors, and staff, expressing gratitude and apologies to all those who supported 'My Perfect Secretary' once again.
Previously, online communities alleged that Producer Jun-ho Ham was involved in a drunken assault incident that took place in March 2020 in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
An SBS representative stated, "We apologize for causing concern with the negative news regarding Producer Jun-ho Ham. It is true that he was charged with drunken assault and defamation."
Producer Jun-ho Ham received a suspension as a result of the incident and reportedly spent three years in self-reflection. In 2023, he returned to work, directing 'Payback'.
Meanwhile, 'My Perfect Secretary' ended with a happy ending on the 14th. The final episode recorded a viewership rating of 12% (national average) according to Nielsen Korea.
