Na Kyung-won: “I don’t think opposing Yoon’s impeachment is wrong.”

Na Kyung-won, "I still maintain my stance against impeachment… The party is sinking into a quagmire due to the martial law and impeachment controversy"

Member of the National Assembly Na Kyung-won re-confirmed her position regarding the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-youl.

On the 29th, Na stated, "I do not support martial law, but I still do not think that being against impeachment is wrong."

Appearing on SBS Radio's "Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show," Na refuted the claim that supporting impeachment represented the public opinion of all citizens.

She explained, "Considering that up to 40% of the public supported (the People Power Party) based on the election results, we cannot simply view that support for impeachment was 'unconditionally the public opinion, meeting the people's expectations.'" This comment underscores that the support for impeachment was not a unified opinion among the entire public.

On the conflict with the Innovation Committee, "The party is getting trapped in an endless quagmire"

Na also addressed comments made by fellow party member Yoon Hee-sook, the chair of the Innovation Committee.

Yoon previously stated, "Those who are tightly submerging themselves in the sea of impeachment are the top priority for personnel renewal," demanding statements from Na Kyung-won, Song Eon-seok, the chair of the emergency committee and floor leader, Yoon Sang-hyun, and Jang Dong-hyuk regarding their positions.

In response, Na expressed discomfort, stating, "The more we go down the route of martial law and impeachment, the more our party is trapped in an endless quagmire."

She appears to be raising concerns about the deepening internal conflicts within the party.

Regarding the future direction of the party, Na emphasized, "The important thing is for the party to move towards the future by embracing a diverse spectrum while safeguarding the essence of conservative values, establishing party discipline, and fulfilling the role the party should play."

She also added, "For this reason, we cannot support a kind of innovation that insists on getting rid of certain individuals," clearly opposing the style of innovation that demands the ouster of specific personnel.
