A 20-Something Woman Suffering Double Trouble from Father-in-Law's Sexual Harassment and Husband's Affair
A story of a 20-something woman whose marriage turned hellish has come to light.
On the 8th, JTBC's 'Incident Report' shared the story of Ms. A, who has been suffering from her father-in-law’s sexual harassment and her husband’s infidelity.

Ms. A, who got married in her early 20s, lamented, "I experienced hellish days right after getting married." After setting up her newlywed home near her in-laws' house, she shared that she had dinner with her in-laws every day after her husband left for work and suffered from her father-in-law's continuous sexual harassment during this time. "I experienced hellish days right after getting married."
According to Ms. A, her father-in-law would approach her and touch her body while her mother-in-law was busy preparing food in the kitchen, and during family vacations, he continued his harassment by using excuses like "sand got on you" to touch her buttocks while avoiding the eyes of other family members. Faced with this situation, Ms. A found it difficult to decide whether to inform her husband and endured the pain alone, eventually deciding to move out.
Additional Victimization Revealed by Sister-in-Law's Confession
After several years, Ms. A received a shocking phone call from her sister-in-law. The sister-in-law also revealed that she had been sexually harassed by the father-in-law, with instances of him touching her face and massaging her shoulders. Ms. A was greatly shocked by her sister-in-law's confession, which involved even more serious harm.
The sister-in-law immediately shared the truth with her husband and confronted the father-in-law, which caused upheaval in the household.

Ms. A was tormented by regrets, questioning, "Why couldn’t I tell my husband sooner?" She tried to confide in him late, but the father-in-law's sudden death led her to decide to bury the incident in her heart.
Suspicion of Infidelity as Husband Becomes More Like Father-in-Law
As time passed, Ms. A noticed her husband's appearance and behavior increasingly resembling that of her father-in-law. When Ms. A rejected his physical advances, her husband would show his displeasure, and he even left home boldly to stay out late, returning around midnight.
The situation worsened when Ms. A discovered her husband dining and going out to cafes with a female employee during work hours, indicating they were dating.
When Ms. A demanded a divorce, her husband dismissed her, saying, "Isn't it normal to have dinner with a coworker as a colleague?" and even claimed, "You’ve been neglecting me, so I went to eat with the female employee."

Ms. A wants to seek a lawyer's help for divorce proceedings, but it is difficult to arrange the funds since her husband has complete control over their finances.
Despite having lived as a dual-income household, she said she does not properly know about their financial situation, such as how much her husband earns.
In response, legal expert Shin Yu-jin advised, "There’s no need to live in reference [to your husband]," stating, "If you file for a divorce, the court can look into all financial transaction information to ascertain property details."
