Kwon Jin-seung, Kim Kun-hee's Gift Chanel Products Additional Confirmation
During the investigation into the solicitation allegations against Kwon Jin-seung, it has been confirmed that there were several Chanel products intended as gifts for Kim Kun-hee, in addition to the previously known Chanel bag.
According to a report by SBS on the 19th, the prosecution recently secured purchase histories of products bought for Kim Kun-hee as a gift from Yoon, a former executive of the Unification Church, through a search of Chanel Korea.
The purchase history revealed that it included multiple Chanel products, in addition to the luxury bags that were already known.
On the 17th, the prosecution summoned Kwon Jin-seung to present the relevant purchase history and focused on whether the products were actually delivered to Kim Kun-hee.

Kwon stated, "I lost the gift package."
During the prosecution’s investigation, Kwon admitted that he received a gift package contained in a Chanel shopping bag from Yoon but claimed, "I did not deliver it to Kim Kun-hee."
When asked why he did not deliver it, he responded, "After controversies about me surfaced through the media, I lost the gift package while moving between various hiding spots."
Kwon's reasoning was similar to his previous claim that a diamond necklace intended for Kim Kun-hee was also lost and not delivered, leading prosecutors to question the credibility of his statements.
The prosecution has determined that it is difficult to verify the facts based solely on Kwon's statements and is analyzing materials obtained through recent searches of the residences and mobile phones of Kim Kun-hee’s aides.
They are currently working to confirm any signs that Kwon actually delivered the gifts to Kim Kun-hee.

This investigation focuses on uncovering whether Kwon provided expensive gifts to Kim Kun-hee and sought unethical solicitations in return.
The prosecution appears to be trying to clarify the facts by comprehensively examining the purchase histories secured through the Chanel Korea search and testimonies from related individuals.
The legal community suggests that providing expensive gifts could potentially violate the Improper Solicitation Prevention Act, and that proving whether the gifts were actually delivered and the existence of a quid pro quo will be the key to the investigation.
The prosecution is expected to continue collecting relevant evidence and investigating involved parties.
