Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung Attend Official Events in Canada on the First Day of G7 Summit
President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung are scheduled to attend a welcome reception hosted by the Governor and a welcome dinner hosted by the Governor General in Canada on the first day of their trip for the G7 Summit.
The Presidential Office officially announced this schedule on the 16th.

According to the Presidential Office, President Lee will depart for Canada on this day to participate in the G7 Summit held from May 15 to May 17 (local time).
The President and First Lady are expected to arrive at Calgary Airport in Canada on the 16th local time.
After their arrival, they will attend the welcome reception hosted by the Governor and the welcome dinner hosted by Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada.
First Overseas Trip After Inauguration, Bilateral Meetings with World Leaders Expected
This visit marks President Lee Jae-myung's first overseas trip since taking office, and it is expected that he will hold bilateral meetings with world leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, during the summit. It is anticipated that through these meetings, Korea's stature on the international stage will be enhanced, and cooperative measures on key issues will be explored.

Spokesperson Kang Yoo-jeong stated, "President Lee aims to build rapport with various world leaders during this visit and lay a foundation for achieving tangible results on pressing issues, including trade." She also added, "In particular, we expect to elevate Korea's status on the global stage by showcasing the greatness of our people who overcame martial law and rebellion, as well as the strength of K-Democracy."
First Lady Kim Hye-kyung's Debut in 'First Lady Diplomacy,' Domestic Economic Supplementary Budget to Be Discussed After G7
First Lady Kim Hye-kyung will also accompany the President and is set to make her debut in 'First Lady Diplomacy.'
According to Spokesperson Kang, the First Lady plans to participate in official events provided by the host, Canada.
Meanwhile, President Lee has urged the Presidential Office staff and civil servants to carry out their duties flawlessly to ensure stable governance during the trip, as conveyed by Spokesperson Kang in a briefing.

Regarding the government's proposed supplementary budget for people's livelihoods, a Presidential Office official stated, "The Cabinet meeting is scheduled for after the G7, at which point specific discussions will take place." Accordingly, detailed information about the supplementary budget is expected to be released after President Lee's G7 Summit schedule.
