Actors Woo Do-hwan, Lee Yoo-mi, and Oh Jung-se are returning with a delightful escapade.
Netflix announced on the 14th that the new series "Mr. Plankton" will be released on the 8th of next month. They revealed a teaser poster and a teaser trailer, hinting at the start of a romantic comedy and the show's overall vibe.
"Mr. Plankton" is a romantic comedy. It tells the story that unfolds when 'Haejo' (played by Woo Do-hwan), a man born by mistake, embarks on his final journey in life and is forcibly accompanied by 'Jaemi' (played by Lee Yoo-mi), the unluckiest woman in the world.
It teases the chemistry between Haejo and Jaemi. On the poster, the two are seen walking side by side in red tracksuits, appearing both like a couple and not, while maintaining their distance.
The trailer is sweet and bittersweet. Haejo finds out he has a brain tumor and is given a terminal diagnosis. On the same day, he coincidentally reunites with his ex-girlfriend Jaemi, who, despite being a prospective bride of a noble family, is in tears after being diagnosed with premature menopause.
Haejo makes a sudden appearance at Jaemi's wedding. He extends his hand and says, "You don't want to get married, you want to run away. Let's go, with me." At that moment, Jaemi's devoted fiancé 'Eoheung' (played by Oh Jung-se) appears.
The romance between Haejo and Jaemi unfolds. Their growing closeness is captured on camera as they spend time together. Haejo ends with, "Why is life getting fun at the end, making me regretful," adding a touch of sentiment.
Director Hong Jong-chan of "Juvenile Justice" helms the series. He presents a romantic comedy that is 180 degrees different from his previous work. The director commented, "All the characters are lovable. Following the pure characters brings comfort and healing."
