Severe Traffic Accident in Changwon City at Midnight, Delivery Motorcycle Driver Dies

A serious traffic accident occurred at an intersection in Sodap-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon City, where a delivery motorcycle collided with a passenger car.

As a result of this accident, the driver of the motorcycle in his 20s lost his life.

According to the Changwon West Police Station, at 12:01 AM on the 23rd, a delivery motorcycle crashed into the left side of a Grandeur passenger car at the intersection with eight lanes in Sodap-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon City. Immediately after the accident, a fire broke out from the motorcycle, leading to its complete destruction.

Due to this collision, the motorcycle driver sustained severe head injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but ultimately died during treatment.

On the other hand, the driver of the Grandeur passenger car, also in his 20s, was confirmed to have not sustained any serious injuries.

Investigating the Cause of the Accident… Confirming Compliance with Traffic Signals

Due to the shock of the collision, the Grandeur passenger car sustained significant damage to the driver's side door and the front fender.

The police, after analyzing testimonies from eyewitnesses and surrounding CCTV footage, have provisionally concluded that the motorcycle collided with the side of the Grandeur, which was proceeding straight on a normal signal.

The Changwon West Police Station stated, "We are investigating the precise circumstances of the accident involving the Grandeur driver and other related parties," and emphasized "the importance of safe driving to prevent traffic accidents during late-night hours."

The police are focusing on identifying the exact cause of the accident by examining various factors, including the possibility of a traffic signal violation by the motorcycle driver, visibility issues during late-night hours, and speeding.
