The behavior of a mother and daughter who caused a stir at a restaurant claiming the rice was dry has sparked public outrage.

On the 18th, JTBC's 'Incident Desk' featured a shocking story shared by restaurant owner A.

According to A's testimony, the incident occurred shortly after lunch time on the 6th. A mother-daughter customer ordered chicken noodle soup and beef bone soup, and A served them the rice and noodles that come with the beef bone soup first.

However, while eating the noodles with the lid of the rice container left open, the customer suddenly ate a spoonful of rice and called over a staff member to complain that "the rice is dry."

The staff member immediately explained that "this seat receives strong air conditioning, so if the lid is left open, the rice may dry out," apologized, and replaced it with fresh rice. But the issue did not end there.

Escalating conflict and inappropriate behavior from the customers

After the mother took a few bites of the new rice, she passed it to her daughter, who mixed it into the beef bone soup. However, the mother and daughter again called over a staff member, demanding, "This rice is undercooked too. Change the beef bone soup as well."

A explained, "The rice provided to customers is freshly cooked every morning and lunchtime," adding, "On that day, we sold over 100 bowls during lunch, and no one else raised any complaints." As the situation worsened, A suggested, "If you're very uncomfortable with the meal, I can offer a refund." However, the daughter responded, "What kind of response is this? Just say you're sorry," and when A pointed out her profanity, she arrogantly replied, "I wasn't directing that at you. Just apologize."

When A handed them the refund receipt, the mother and daughter snatched it away and threatened, "We will post this on a mom’s cafe." When A stated, "I will call the police for obstructing business," the mother and daughter left the establishment.

A stated, "Usually I just endure these situations, but this was too extreme. I reported it to the police because it seemed like they might do the same at other establishments." Notably, A shared, "It was so bad that after the mother and daughter left, other customers came up and said, 'We heard everything' and wrote a statement to support me and encourage me to hang in there."
