Kwon Oh-seob, Chairman of Mediheal, Donates 3 Billion Won to His Alma Mater, Korea University
Chairman Kwon Oh-seob of Mediheal has generously donated 3 billion won in celebration of Korea University's 120th anniversary.
On the 25th, Korea University announced that Kwon Oh-seob, who owns the cosmetics brand Mediheal through L&P Cosmetic, has donated 3 billion won.
To date, Chairman Kwon's cumulative donations to his alma mater, Korea University, amount to approximately 25.1 billion won.
This donation has been allocated to various areas. First, 1 billion won has been designated for the construction fund of the student union building at Korea University's Sejong campus.
Additionally, 1 billion won will be used for the development fund of the Korea University Medical Center, and another 1 billion won will go towards the alumni development fund.
In November 2016, Chairman Kwon made a significant donation of 12 billion won, leading to the establishment of the 'Mediheal Earth Environment Hall' at his alma mater.
In August 2023, he contributed 5 billion won to the medical development fund, resulting in the naming of the main auditorium at Korea University's Anam Hospital as 'Mediheal Hall.'
Since then, he has consistently shown his love for his alma mater through various contributions, including 1 billion won for sports development, 100 million won for rugby club support, and 120 million won for scholarships for international students.
For these efforts, he received the 'Proud Korea University Alumni Award' last year.
Chairman Kwon stated, "I have always wished to help my juniors. I will continue to actively support the nurturing of talents at my alma mater."
Korea University President Kim Dong-won expressed his gratitude for Chairman Kwon's continuous interest and love for the school, stating, "Based on this foundation, we will strive for balanced development across campuses and the cultivation of future talents."
