MBC and JTBC have halted their regular programming due to the December 3 martial law crisis. MBC-TV’s “I Live Alone” will be preempted on the 6th at 11:10 PM. The weekend drama “The Call You Are Making Now” is also confirmed to be postponed for the weekend.

Episodes 5 (December 6) and 6 (December 7) are delayed. Instead, “MBC News Special” is scheduled to air. JTBC’s weekend drama “Lady Ok’s Journal” Episode 3 will also not air on the 7th at 10:30 PM. The broadcast schedule was filled with “JTBC News Special.”

The original broadcast of Episode 3 is scheduled for the 8th at 10:30 PM. President Yoon Suk-yeol declared martial law for the first time in 45 years on December 3. Martial law troops even advanced into the National Assembly, causing a shock. Thanks to the swift action of the lawmakers, the martial law was lifted, rendering it unsuccessful.

President Yoon has not stated his position as of the 6th. It is reported that he argued, “It was a warning martial law to prevent the radical actions of the opposition party. I did nothing wrong,” during a meeting with ruling party leaders. Criticism that he trampled on democracy poured in.

After the martial law declaration, his approval rating dropped to 13% (Korea Gallup). Nationwide, statements and impeachment rallies are ongoing. On the 5th, the six opposition parties, including the Democratic Party, reported an impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol at the National Assembly plenary session.

It will be put to a vote on the 7th, along with the special prosecution bill for Kim Kun-hee.
