Baek Jong-won's Alleged Abuses Exposed by Former MBC PD… Outrage Erupts Over Baek Jong-won's Positive Stories

Kim Jae-hwan, a former PD from MBC who claimed Baek Jong-won has been abusing his power, has responded to the emergence of a PD defending Baek Jong-won.

On the 21st, a video titled "Can Baek Jong-won Recover? The Relationship Between Baek Jong-won and the Media" was uploaded to the YouTube channel "45Plus."

Director Kim stated, "There are two versions of Baek Jong-won: 'Broadcasting Baek Jong-won' and 'Business Baek Jong-won.' Recently, Baek's remarks as Broadcasting Baek Jong-won have boomeranged back to hit Business Baek Jong-won," he asserted.

He added, "While Baek requested that 'the writer's team and filming crew I designate must be included' during filming, cooperation between the PD and the filming crew is crucial. However, if the team brought by Baek only caters to his feelings, the power on set will tilt toward him," exposing Baek Jong-won's alleged abuses.

However, after Director Kim's video exposing Baek Jong-won's alleged abuses gained attention, on the 25th, PD Han Kyung-hoon denied Kim's claims by sharing positive stories about Baek in an interview with the Korea Economic Daily.

PD Han has collaborated with Baek Jong-won since 2019’s "The Recipe of Recipes," in shows like "Baek Jong-won's National Food – Global Food," "Baek Jong-won's Four Seasons – What to Eat This Season?" and "Baek Jong-won's Les Misérables."

PD Han defended Baek, stating, "(Baek) is considerate, sending gifts to even the drivers and being attentive to all cast members and staff" and asserted, "Though they aren’t luxurious gifts, I’ve never seen anyone care for everyone like that."

On that day, Han acknowledged, "It is true that Baek tends to be selective with people," adding, "Isn’t it instinctive for him to want to continuously communicate with those he believes understand what he is saying and are suitable to work with, while trying to avoid others?"

In relation to this, Director Kim criticized in a video titled "Baek Jong-won News, How to Interpret It," stating, "I can't contain my anger. Why are the store owners neglected while the staff receives gifts for 200 people?" He continued, "Please take care of the store owners" and questioned, "Can a palm cover the sky? It's a story everyone familiar with Baek knows. Let's be honest."

He further claimed that a certain PD's close relationship with Baek, to the point of attending special lectures at a school where Baek serves as chairman, would be a reason for Baek's alleged abuses being baseless, telling the PD to sue him if that were the case.

Meanwhile, amidst the controversy, a post recently emerged on an online community along with a photo of Baek Jong-won cooking, captioned "Filming Season 3 of Business Genius Baek at France," which drew attention.
