MBC announcer Lee Sung-bae resigns and joins Hong Joon-pyo's campaign
Lee Sung-bae, who has served as an MBC announcer for 17 years, has made an abrupt resignation and found a new job.
On the 14th, former Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo officially declared his candidacy for the 21st presidential election and held the opening ceremony of his campaign office at the Daehwa Building in Yeouido, Seoul.

On that day, former announcer Lee announced his resignation through his social media, saying, "I give my final greetings to MBC," and made his first official appearance as a spokesperson at the declaration ceremony.
Former announcer Lee expressed his thoughts, stating, "I will convey the candidate's belief to save the country based on Hong's political philosophy, experience, and age."
Another notable figure has joined former Mayor Hong's camp. The chairman of the support committee is actor Lee Jung-gil, known as the 'King of Melodrama'.

Lee graduated from Seorabeol High School and Seorabeol University of the Arts (now Chung-Ang University) and debuted in 1965 as part of KBS's 5th talent recruitment.
In the 1970s, he enjoyed a peak in his career alongside Park Geun-hyung in MBC dramas and left a deep impression on viewers through numerous works by writer Kim Soo-hyun. He has portrayed intelligent and weighty characters in series such as the "500 Years of Joseon Dynasty," "Eyes of Dawn" as the leftist character Kim Gi-moon, and in "Korea Gate" and MBC's Republic series as former Prime Minister Kim Jong-pil.
On that day, the Hong candidate's camp announced the first round of appointments, showing signs of expansion. Yoo Sang-beom, a member of the National Assembly, will serve as the head of the overall situation headquarters, Kim Seon-dong, the chairman of the Dobong District Party Committee in Seoul, will take charge of the overall organization headquarters, and Lee Young-joon, the chairman of 'Saemijun (Meeting for Preparation for a New Future)', will head the overall support headquarters.
Additionally, Kim Wi-sang was appointed as the head of labor policy headquarters, and Kim Dae-sik as the candidate's secretary.
