A man in his 50s nearly suffered serious injuries after he threw a TV out of an apartment window due to poor reception.
Fortunately, the TV fell near the victim, causing no direct harm, but it was a dangerous situation that could have led to a serious accident.

According to the legal circle, Judge Kim Young-il of the Suwon District Court's Seongnam Branch sentenced Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of attempted special injury, obstruction of special public duty, and violation of the Minor Offenses Punishment Act, to a fine of 100,000 won with a two-year probation.
Mr. A was accused of throwing a TV out of the balcony window out of frustration when it wasn't showing properly at an apartment in Hanam, Gyeonggi Province.
At the time of the incident, a man in his 50s, Mr. B, was separating garbage at the apartment's recycling area, and the TV thrown by Mr. A fell near Mr. B. If the TV had directly hit Mr. B, it could have led to serious injuries or, in the worst case, a fatal accident.
Additionally, the investigation authorities determined that Mr. A's action was reckless, as he should have reasonably expected that throwing the TV could injure someone passing by, which is why the charge of "attempted special injury" was applied.

Furthermore, Mr. A faced allegations of illegally concealing and carrying a 22cm long knife without just cause last year, as well as threatening police officers who responded to a report by attempting to throw a bowl that he was using as an ashtray at them.
Judge Kim stated, "The act of throwing a TV from a high place and carrying dangerous items to obstruct public duty poses a significant risk and constitutes a serious crime." However, he explained that "Mr. A regrets his actions, and Mr. B did not incur any actual injury, and does not wish for Mr. A to be punished."
He also added, "Mr. A is a severely disabled person in poor health and facing economic difficulties. His actions seem to be related to his mental and physical health condition."
Mr. A has paid 2 million won as a criminal deposit to the injured police officer, who also expressed a willingness to accept it.
