A man who killed a woman in her 60s at Seoraksan has surrendered, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
The shocking incident at Seoraksan has left the local community in great shock.

A man in his 50s, referred to as A, confessed to killing a woman in her 60s, referred to as B, upon surrendering to the Gangneung Police Station. The incident occurred ten days ago near the Seoraksan National Park's walking trail in Sokcho, and A appeared at the police station around midnight that day to disclose his crime.
Based on A's statements, the police conducted an emergency arrest and discovered B's body early in the morning near the Seoraksan walking trail.
The location where the body was found was remote, far from hiking trails or roads, indicating it was not often visited by people. The two had a business relationship, and it is presumed that A fell into despair due to recent difficulties in attracting investors.

During police questioning, A stated, "I attempted to commit suicide with B, but ultimately killed B and survived alone."
B's family reported her missing when she did not return home, which initiated the investigation. The police are currently looking into A's motives for the crime and the specific circumstances surrounding the incident.
