Man in his 40s Arrested for Spraying Flammable Substance on Wife in Front of Children

A man in his 40s has been arrested by police for spraying a flammable substance on his wife and threatening her life while their minor children watched.

The Bundang Police Station in Gyeonggi Province announced that the man was arrested around 11:30 AM on the 6th while assaulting his wife and attempting to ignite her hair with a lighter in an apartment in Bundang, Seongnam City. He is charged with assaulting his wife and attempting to set her on fire.

The man is accused of suddenly spraying the flammable substance during an argument with his wife in front of their three minor children, threatening, "I will kill you."

This shocking incident occurred at a domestic violence scene, with the children as witnesses.

Evidence Secured and Past Domestic Violence History Revealed

Upon receiving a report from the victimized woman, police arrived at the scene and secured evidence, including a video captured by the children and the flammable substance present.

It is reported that authorities were able to substantiate the charges through digital evidence and physical evidence.

Further investigation revealed that the man was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident. More seriously, it has been discovered that he had a history of being investigated by the police for domestic violence last year.
