Shocking Criminal Charges Against a Dating Show Participant
A man in his 30s, who appeared on the popular dating reality program "I Am Solo," has been sent to the prosecution under arrest on charges of sexual assault (quasi-rape).
On the 1st, the Mapo Police Station in Seoul announced that they had arrested and sent the man, referred to as A, to the prosecution on charges of quasi-rape on the 26th of last month.

According to the police, A is accused of committing sexual assault against a woman in her 20s in a parking lot in Seogyo-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, at around 3:30 AM on the 21st of last month.
Quasi-rape refers to the crime of intercourse using the victim's inability to resist due to mental or physical infirmity. The police urgently arrested A and obtained an arrest warrant from the court on the 23rd.
Response and Follow-up Actions from the Production Team
A has been confirmed as a participant in "I Am Solo" and its spin-off "I Am Solo, and Love Continues," which are currently airing on SBS Plus and ENA.
Upon learning about the incident, the production team of "I Am Solo" issued an official statement saying, "We became aware of the participant's criminal charges and the issuance of an arrest warrant through news reports."

The production team stated that they recognize the seriousness of the situation and plan to take measures to ensure that there is no discomfort for viewers, including editing and removing the participant from existing broadcast episodes as much as possible.
They also expressed their regret, saying, "Despite our requests for participants to exercise caution and vigilance before and after the broadcast, we feel a deep sense of responsibility and are sincerely sorry that such an incident has occurred."
The production team added that they will promise stricter management to ensure that participants fulfill their contractual obligations and responsibilities, and they will approach the program's production more cautiously in the future.
