A man who indiscriminately sprayed lacquer throughout Seoul was arrested at a jjimjilbang.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency officially announced on the 7th via their YouTube channel that they had apprehended an individual, referred to as A, who committed the lacquer terror acts across Seoul in late May.

From May 25 to 27, A wandered through 22 locations in Seoul, including parking lots, bank ATMs, and building elevators, indiscriminately vandalizing property with lacquer spray.
The estimated property damage is reported to be around 15 million KRW. The police identified the suspect's appearance through CCTV analysis and intensified patrol activities.
On May 27, the third day of the vandalism, the police received a citizen report stating that "the person who sprayed lacquer has entered a jjimjilbang."
When the police arrived on site, A had changed into jjimjilbang attire and mingled among regular patrons, making it initially difficult to identify him. However, officers who had familiarized themselves with the suspect's appearance through CCTV footage over the past two days were able to quickly identify A in his jjimjilbang outfit and arrest him.

During police interrogation, A reportedly stated that his motive for the crime was "because people were trying to hurt me." This suggests that A may have committed the acts while in a state of paranoia.
The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency has arrested A on charges of property damage and referred him to the prosecution. Under Article 366 of the Criminal Code, anyone who damages or conceals another person's property, documents, or electronic records, thus impairing their utility, is subject to imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 7 million KRW.
