“Mafia, It’s Like You’re Tiramisu Cake”…’Black and White Chef’ Tops Netflix Again

Netflix's variety show 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' (hereinafter 'Black and White Chef') has reached the top spot globally for two consecutive weeks.

'Black and White Chef' was released on the 17th of last month. According to 'Netflix Top 10', the show clinched the No. 1 spot in the non-English TV series category for the 4th week of September.

It has topped the charts for two consecutive weeks, recording 4.9 million viewers (the number of viewings divided by the total running time). It surpassed 'Gyeongseong Creature Season 2' and others.

The numbers were higher than the previous week's. It jumped from 3.8 million viewers in its first week to an additional 1.1 million viewers. It has been praised for both its visual and auditory appeal.

The number of countries entering the top 10 also increased. It ranked among the most-watched series in a total of 28 countries, including Canada, Australia, Morocco, and Luxembourg.

It took the No. 1 spot in 4 of these countries. It has been loved by Asian subscribers, recording the highest viewership in South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taiwan.

'Black and White Chef' is Netflix Korea’s first cooking survival variety show. It features underdog 'black spoon' chefs competing against 'gold spoon' star chefs.

Judges include Baek Jong-won, the CEO of Theborn Korea, and An Sung-jae, the chef of Mosu Seoul. Choi Hyun-seok, Edward Lee, and Jung Ji-sun have been selected as the top 8.

Meanwhile, 'Black and White Chef' will unveil its grand winner on the 8th. Episodes 11-12 will be broadcast.
