The movie "Favorite Restaurant" (directed by Han Jae-i) produced by actor Ma Dong-seok is now in post-production. The distributor Studio Santa Claus Entertainment announced on the 30th that "'Favorite Restaurant' finished filming on the 18th. It was completed over a total of 26 sessions."
"Favorite Restaurant" is a comedic mystery detective story. It follows a workaholic English teacher who learns of her mother's disappearance and collaborates with neighbors to find her. It is one of the most anticipated films in Chungmuro. This is because Ma Dong-seok participated as the chief planner and producer, involved in everything from selecting the concept to planning and developing the script.
The chemistry among the actors is also a highlight. Joo Hyun-young plays Mi-won, an English teacher in Gangnam's 8 School District, who experiences significant changes due to her mother's sudden disappearance. Kim Mi-kyung plays Mi-won's mother, Ye-bun, who is also the owner of Mi-won Restaurant. Ye-bun is a figure with a strict policy of not using any artificial seasonings and suddenly vanishes one day.
Jung Yong-hwa takes on the role of Gi-yong, who returns to his hometown after a troubled past, amplifying the mysterious atmosphere of the film. Go Chang-seok plays Shin-su, a church assistant pastor who forms a secretive relationship with Ye-bun. Cha Woo-jin appears as Baek-san, who helps with the missing person case.
Other cast members include Lee Su-mi, Lee Sung-wook, Park Kyung-hye, Lee Tae-young, and Hyun Woo-seok, who add fresh charm with their scene-stealing performances. The film is directed by Han Jae-i, who mentioned, "It's a touching and uniquely beautiful film," and expressed his commitment to giving his best in the remaining work.
"Favorite Restaurant" is slated for release next year.
