‘Love’s Hachuping’ surpasses 1 million… Daeseping, highest record in 12 years

According to the distribution company 'Showbox,' the domestic animated film 'Hatchuping of Love' has surpassed 1 million viewers as of the morning of the 16th. It achieved this milestone 41 days after its release.

This is the first time in 12 years that a Korean animated film has surpassed 1 million viewers, the last being 'Speckles: The Tarbosaurus 3D' (2012, directed by Han Sang-Ho).

'Hatchuping of Love' currently holds the third position in the history of Korean animated films. It follows 'Leafie, A Hen into the Wild' (2.2 million viewers, 2011) and 'Speckles: The Tarbosaurus 3D' (1.05 million viewers).

Its box office performance during the Chuseok holiday is also noteworthy. As of noon today, it has already secured 6,764 advance ticket sales, drawing children and parents to the theaters.

'Hatchuping of Love' is the theatrical version of the TV animation series 'Catch! Teenieping'. Since its release on the 7th of last month, it has consistently stayed at the top of the box office.

Despite being a children's film, it has captivated audiences in their 20s and 30s as well as adults. Some viewers have commented, "I went to watch it with my niece and ended up crying."

Currently, the number one spot at the box office is held by 'Veteran 2' (directed by Ryu Seung-Wan, with a cumulative 2,095,936 viewers). The second spot is occupied by 'Bread Barbershop: The Birth of a Bread Star' (directed by Jung Ji-Hwan, with 70,497 viewers).
