In the early stages of the match, Tottenham took the lead. In the 12th minute of the first half, James Maddison's right corner kick was connected with a header by Dominic Solanke, scoring the opening goal. However, Liverpool's response was swift.

Just four minutes later, Luis Díaz received a pass from Dominik Szoboszlai and scored the equalizer. After that, the game tilted in favor of Liverpool with a one-sided offensive performance.

In the 24th minute of the first half, Alexis Mac Allister successfully scored the go-ahead goal with a powerful left-footed long-range shot from the center of the penalty arc. Ten minutes later, Cody Gakpo added another goal with a right-foot shot during a chaotic situation following a corner kick.

Liverpool's onslaught continued into the second half, with a listless Tottenham missing Son Heung-min.

The pressure from Liverpool did not let up in the second half. In the 63rd minute, Mohamed Salah accurately targeted the corner of the goal with a left-foot shot inside the penalty box.

As Tottenham's defense completely crumbled, in the 69th minute, a cross from Trent Alexander-Arnold led to an own goal by Destiny Udogie, concluding the match at 5-1.

As the final whistle blew, Anfield transformed into a festival.

Red balloons and trophy-shaped balloons adorned the pitch, and amidst the flares, players embraced each other and celebrated the joy of victory with the fans.

With this victory, Liverpool returned to the top of the EPL for the first time in five years since 2020.

Achieving their 20th championship, they now share the record for the most titles in England, alongside Manchester United. Arne Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp last summer, has earned recognition for leading the team to victory in his first season.

Following this defeat, Tottenham remained at 37 points (11 wins, 4 draws, 19 losses) and is currently in 16th place.
