Japanese actor Lily Franky will portray Ito Hirobumi. The film ‘Harbin’ (directed by Woo Min-ho) explores the story of independence activist Ahn Jung-geun’s assassination in Harbin. Lily Franky, a prominent Japanese actor, will take on the role of Ito Hirobumi, a Japanese politician and imperialist.

He is active across the cultural spectrum as a bestselling author, columnist, children’s book author, illustrator, art director, designer, lyricist, composer, and photographer. He frequently appears in works by director Hirokazu Koreeda and played a unique patriarchal role in Koreeda’s Cannes Film Festival Palme d’Or-winning film ‘Shoplifters.’

In ‘Harbin,’ he is expected to deliver a commanding presence as Ito Hirobumi. Director Woo Min-ho confidently stated that audiences could expect a different side of Franky’s acting not seen before. It is said that Lily Franky was so captivated by the script of ‘Harbin’ that he immediately decided to join the cast.
