Singer Lee Seung-hwan lent his support to the candlelight vigil. On the 9th, Lee Seung-hwan disclosed a transfer record on Instagram, showing that he donated 12.13 million won to 'Candlelight Action', the organizers of the vigil. He openly supported the impeachment.
He explained, "This year's donation relay for leukemia patients has started. I have participated in this movement again, but I have changed the donation recipients."
He added, "I hope the impeachment will happen this coming Saturday. As always, please support 'Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation.'"
Last month, Lee Seung-hwan concluded his charity concert 'Let's Live Honestly' by donating 59 million won to the Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation, a nonprofit organization specializing in pediatric cancer.
On the 4th, he canceled his small theater concert 'Like a Black-and-White Movie' but decided to resume performances once martial law was lifted. He stated, "I will meet you with deeper and more profound stories and songs today, when there is so much to say."
Lee Seung-hwan has continued to express his convictions. On the 8th, he criticized members of the People Power Party after the impeachment motion against President Yoon Suk-yeol failed to pass due to a lack of quorum.
Along with photos of himself at the candlelight vigil, he emphasized, "Are you proud and pleased with your power to instantly disregard the wishes of nearly 80% of democratic citizens who want impeachment? Democratic citizens will stay up all night to see the dawn break."
