Actors Lee Se-young and Na In-woo evoke the sentiment of first love. MBC-TV’s new Friday-Saturday drama “Motel California” (written by Lee Seo-yoon, directed by Kim Hyung-min and Lee Jae-jin) released character posters on the 2nd. The posters feature Lee Se-young, Na In-woo, Choi Min-soo, Kim Tae-hyung, and Choi Hee-jin.
“Motel California” is a romance series. It depicts the trials and tribulations of a female protagonist who was born and raised in a rural motel as she reunites with her first love, who ran away from her hometown 12 years ago. Lee Se-young plays the role of “Ji Kang-hee.”
Kang-hee is an interior designer who has led a challenging life due to her uncommon background of “a rural motel as her home” and her mixed heritage. Na In-woo portrays “Cheon Yeon-soo.” Yeon-soo is a large animal veterinarian in Hana-eup, whose life is completely overturned by Kang-hee, his first love whom he meets again after 12 years.
Choi Min-soo plays Kang-hee’s father, “Ji Chun-pil.” Chun-pil is a romanticist with a free spirit who runs a rural motel. Kim Tae-hyung plays “Geum Seok-kyung,” a young, rich businessman. Choi Hee-jin plays veterinarian “Yoon Nan-woo,” who gets embroiled in a marriage scandal with Cheon Yeon-soo.
The character posters fully capture their charms. Kang-hee exudes an exotic charm with bright chestnut hair, mysterious eyes, and freckles covering her cheeks. An unforgettable first love, just that essence.
Yeon-soo displays his pure-hearted charm, gazing solely at Kang-hee. He stands alone on a rooftop with snowflakes drifting around, giving a wistful expression as if lost in poignant memories. Chun-pil shows off his distinctive presence, breaking the stereotype that rural motels are shabby and gloomy.
The colorful Christmas tree adds a touch of uniqueness. He presents more like a minstrel than a manager. Seok-kyung flaunts the charisma of a city man with a sleek suit and sunglasses.
Nan-woo completes an innocent and radiant visual that evokes a protective instinct, hinting at a love quadrangle with Kang-hee and Yeon-soo. “Motel California” is MBC’s first drama this year. It premieres at 9:50 PM on the 10th.
