Actors Lee Se-young and Na In-woo have hinted at a romantic chemistry. On the 25th, MBC-TV’s new Friday-Saturday drama, “Motel California” (written by Lee Seo-yoon, directed by Kim Hyung-min and Lee Jae-jin), released a special teaser video exuding a Christmas mood.
“Motel California” is a romance genre. It depicts the trials and tribulations of a female protagonist who was born and raised in a countryside motel and reunites with her first love after running away from her hometown 12 years ago. It is based on the popular 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home” by author Sim Yoon-seo.
Lee Se-young plays the female protagonist Ji Kang-hee, while Na In-woo plays her counterpart, Cheon Yun-soo. Choi Min-soo takes on the role of Kang-hee’s father, Ji Chun-pil.
The teaser begins with the people of “Hana-eup” having a party in the lobby of Motel California. Instead of Christmas carols, a birthday song was playing. Both Chun-pil and Kang-hee’s birthdays are on December 25. Chun-pil was excitedly celebrating their Christmas birthday, while Kang-hee seemed less than thrilled by it.
There are also sweet moments between the couple Kang-hee and Yun-soo. Yun-soo transforms into a giant Santa just for Kang-hee, evoking a smile with his playful confession, “I’ve always liked you.” The two are seen engaging in affectionate antics while sitting side by side on a bed. Chun-pil adds humor with his unstoppable advice to them, “Make sure to use protection.”
“Motel California” promises a new pink-hued story woven with a first love narrative from 23 years ago. It will premiere at 9:50 PM on the 10th of next month.
