Actor Lee Jung-jae opens a new chapter in the ‘Star Wars’ series.
On the 3rd, Disney+ unveiled five character posters for the new original series ‘The Acolyte’ (directed by Leslye Headland), promising intense visuals and narratives.
First, ‘Master Sol’ (played by Lee Jung-jae) is seen wielding a blue lightsaber. He is a wise Jedi Master who is respected by many. To maintain peace, he seeks out hidden truths in the darkness.
‘Master Indara’ (played by Carrie-Anne Moss) wields a green lightsaber. She is a Jedi Master who manipulates the Force freely. She is physically and mentally exceptional and does not enjoy combat.
Mei (played by Amandla Stenberg) is covered from head to toe and holds weapons in both hands. She is a former apprentice of Master Sol with a tragic past, vowing revenge against those who seek to destroy her.
The Wookiee Jedi ‘Kel Naka’ (played by Joonas Suotamo) is seen roaring towards something. Meanwhile, Master Sol’s young apprentice ‘Zeki’ (played by Dafne Keen) wields a green lightsaber.
‘The Acolyte’ is a mystery action thriller. During the golden age of the Jedi Order, an unprecedented Jedi serial murder case occurs. The story unfolds as secrets and dark forces behind the incident are revealed.
Leslye Headland, known for her Emmy-nominated series ‘Russian Doll,’ directs the series. Kogonada, the director of ‘After Yang,’ directs episodes 3 and 7. The music director from ‘Get Out’ and ‘Us’ also contributes to the project.
‘The Acolyte’ will premiere its first two episodes on the 5th, with one episode released every Wednesday thereafter. The series consists of a total of eight episodes.
