Actors Lee Jong-suk and Moon Ga-young will team up in a heartwarming legal drama, playing a 9-year and a 1-year associate lawyer, respectively. tvN’s new drama ‘Seocho-dong’ (written by Lee Seung-hyun, directed by Park Seung-woo) revealed its casting lineup on the 28th. Actors Lee Jong-suk, Moon Ga-young, Kang Yoo-seok, Ryu Hye-young, and Lim Seong-jae are set to join the cast.
‘Seocho-dong’ is a legal office drama. It tells the story of associate lawyers (lawyers employed by law firms and paid a salary) working at different law firms in the same building in Seocho-dong, where various law firms converge. Writer Lee Seung-hyun is a practicing lawyer, raising expectations for a realistic script.
Director Park Seung-woo, who directed MBC-TV’s ‘Kairos’ and tvN’s ‘Adamas’, has joined hands for this project. Lee Jong-suk, Moon Ga-young, Kang Yoo-seok, Ryu Hye-young, and Lim Seong-jae join forces as the dining group of associate lawyers, known as ‘Eobyeon-jeos’.
They portray a cheerful and warm daily life amidst the cold legal battles in Seocho-dong. Lee Jong-suk plays Ahn Joo-hyung, a 9-year associate lawyer. He is the longest-serving associate, having stayed with the same firm for 9 years without changing jobs. He’s a walking encyclopedia for lawyers. Moon Ga-young takes on the role of Kang Hee-ji, a passionate 1-year associate lawyer.
She believes that changing one person’s life can change the world and dreams of becoming a lawyer who stands up for people.
Kang Yoo-seok takes on the role of Jo Chang-won, the chatty representative of the dining group. He is an outgoing individual who fits in everywhere and enjoys going to work like attending gatherings. Ryu Hye-young shines as Bae Moon-jung, the practical leader of the dining group.
Tough but full of affection for others, she stands out for her warmth. Lim Seong-jae portrays Ha Sang-gi, a staunch individualist. Despite stress, he finds happiness in money, embodying the capitalist spirit. He also runs a restaurant blog, showcasing an unpredictable charm.
The production team stated, “‘Seocho-dong’ depicts the growth and challenges lawyers face while meeting different clients,” adding, “With various incidents every episode, we aim to deliver the joys and sorrows of life.” ‘Seocho-dong’ is set to premiere in the first half of 2025.
