Domestic Dessert Myth, Boochang Confectionery’s Walnut Cake Selected as the Official Dessert for APEC Summit
The walnut cake brand 'Boochang Confectionery,' which set a record for the fastest sales with 100 million units sold in just six months in the domestic dessert industry, will make its way to the tables of world leaders.
Boochang Confectionery has been selected as the official dessert for the '32nd Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC)' summit, which will be held in October, allowing leaders from 21 countries, including the United States and China, to taste it.

A Meeting of Tradition and Modernity: The Success Story of Boochang Confectionery
Boochang Confectionery is a walnut cake brand that was re-released last October with a modern sensibility, based on a local confectionery brand that started in Gyeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, in the 1960s, by FG CEO Lee Kyung-won and actor Lee Jang-woo.
Menu items such as 'Salted Lake Walnut Cake' creatively reinterpret traditional confections, gaining word of mouth and achieving remarkable results with cumulative sales of 100 million units and monthly revenue surpassing 1.5 billion KRW within just six months. This achievement has garnered enough attention to be recognized in the Guinness Book of Records.

Boochang Confectionery is also attracting significant interest from major domestic retail companies. It has quickly entered major distribution channels, starting with Shinsegae Department Store in Gangnam, followed by locations in Daegu, Busan, Daejeon, Starfield Suwon, and Yongsan I'Park Mall. Recently, it opened its seventh store at Seoul Station.
Additionally, it is expanding its product variety by launching new items such as 'Jeju Matcha Walnut Cake' made with domestic powdered rice. A new store is scheduled to open at Shinsegae Department Store in Gwangju on the 6th of next month.
A New Icon of K-Dessert Heading to the Global Stage
Boochang Confectionery will take its first step onto the official diplomatic stage at the third APEC Senior Officials Meeting (SOM3) held at Songdo Convensia in Incheon next month.
Beginning with this event, it plans to participate in key APEC schedules sequentially to expand brand awareness on a global stage.

Japan's leading economic newspaper, Nikkei, has recently introduced Boochang Confectionery as a 'hot dessert from Korea,' showing interest, and current discussions are underway for its entry into major department stores in Japan.
To coincide with the APEC summit, FG plans to open a flagship store in Gyeongju and establish the 'Boochang Confectionery School' to foster local confectionery talent and expand employment.
FG CEO Lee Kyung-won expressed his aspirations, stating, "I want to contribute to the globalization of K-food through differentiated desserts reinterpreted in a modern way," and added, "Through continuous innovation and expansion, we will deliver the unique 감동 (emotion and excitement) of Boochang Confectionery to the global market."
