Lee Jae-myung Leads with Over 52% Support in Two-Way Race
Former leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, Lee Jae-myung, has secured over 50% support in a two-way race against not only the People Power Party's candidates Kim Moon-soo, Ahn Cheol-soo, Han Dong-hoon, and Hong Joon-pyo but also acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo.
According to a survey conducted by Gallup Korea at the request of the Kukmin Ilbo from the 23rd to the 24th, involving 1,004 adults aged 18 and over nationwide, Lee received over 52% support against each of the People Power Party candidates as well as against acting Prime Minister Han.

Among the candidates from the People Power Party, he showed the closest support gap with candidate Hong Joon-pyo. Specifically, the support rates were as follows: Lee Jae-myung 56% – Kim Moon-soo 35%, Lee Jae-myung 52% – Ahn Cheol-soo 35%, Lee Jae-myung 52% – Han Dong-hoon 36%, Lee Jae-myung 52% – Hong Joon-pyo 38%, and Lee Jae-myung 53% – Han Duck-soo 38%.
Meanwhile, in a three-way race including candidate Lee Jun-seok from the Reform United Party, candidate Lee recorded over 48% support. Lee Jae-myung received 49%, acting Prime Minister Han Duck-soo received 31%, and candidate Lee Jun-seok received 10%.

In all two-way matchups, Lee Jae-myung garnered support from the centrist demographic, with 57%-62% approving his candidacy. In the three-way race, his support ranged from 53% to 55%.
When it comes to responding to Han Duck-soo's potential candidacy, 54% stated he "should not run," while 29% believed he "should run as an independent and unite with the people's candidate," and 8% felt he "should complete his run as an independent."
This survey was conducted through telephone interviews using randomly assigned virtual numbers provided by telecommunications companies. The margin of error is ±3.1% at a 95% confidence level. The data was weighted by gender, age, and region, and the response rate was 14.0%.
