Actor Lee Dong-gun is making a comeback with a short-form drama. On the 6th, FNC Entertainment announced, "Lee Dong-gun will be starring in 'Useless Love' (written by Park Ji-hye and directed by Lee Jung-seob) and will be teaming up with director Lee Jung-seob once again."
'Useless Love' is a romantic comedy about neighbors. It tells the story of an old bachelor and bachelorette, with outdated sexual perceptions, who spend a night together by mistake.
Lee Dong-gun will play the role of Lee Moo-gae, a literary critic and publishing house editor. He appears perfect on the outside but hesitates to confess to women due to his timid personality.
He is set to undergo a new transformation in acting. He will portray a character who mainly experiences unrequited love, showcasing a different charm rather than sheer masculinity. He is expected to demonstrate delicate emotional expressions.
Lee Dong-gun has several hit works to his name. He has captivated viewers through dramas such as 'Ruler of Your Own World', 'Sang Doo! Let's Go to School', 'Sweet 18', and 'Lovers in Paris'.
Recently, he has revealed a more personal side through variety shows. He is currently appearing with his mother on 'My Little Old Boy', openly sharing his life as a four-year-divorced individual.
His agency stated, "We hope you look forward to Lee Dong-gun's new acting transformation in this upcoming drama, as he has proven his depth in acting across various genres."
Meanwhile, 'Useless Love' is scheduled to be released next January on 'Pulse Peak'.
