Actor Lee Byung-hun returns with a new face.
Lee Byung-hun stars in the movie "Can't Help It" (directed by Park Chan-wook), playing the role of Mansu, a job seeker who prepares for his own battle after being abruptly fired from his company.
He hinted at another transformation. He has portrayed different sides of himself in the series "Squid Game," as well as in the movies "The Man Standing Next," "The Divine Fury," and "K-Pop Demon Hunters."
This time, he plays a father pushed to the brink. He delicately expressed Mansu's complicated emotions, transitioning from a figure brimming with pride in life to one increasingly fraught with anxiety.
Lee Byung-hun shared, "I focused the most on how to convincingly depict extreme circumstances while trying to act."
This is his third collaboration with director Park Chan-wook. They previously teamed up in "Joint Security Area" (2000) and "Three, Monster" (2004). Their ‘trustworthy combination’ raises expectations.
Director Park expressed satisfaction by stating, "He has a vast range of expressions. He can switch emotions in an instant as needed, leaving no dull moments until the end."
Meanwhile, "Can't Help It" is Park Chan-wook's new work. In addition to Lee Byung-hun, it stars Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and Yim Hye-ran. The film is set to be released in September.
