JTBC's "Lady Ok's Tale" (written by Park Ji-sook, directed by Jin Hyuk) has opened a new chapter in K-historical dramas. "Lady Ok's Tale" first aired on November 30 and is simultaneously broadcasted on the Japanese OTT platform 'U-NEXT.'

It has gained immense popularity among global viewers, topping the 'Drama' and 'Korean Wave/Asia' viewing rankings on U-NEXT. The narrative of Koo Deok-i (played by Lim Ji-yeon) has resonated well locally, captivating audiences with her journey to overcome the limitations of her birth status and discover her true self.

The success is not limited to Japan alone. The drama also ranks first on the OTT platform 'KOCOWA+' in regions including North America, Europe, and Oceania. SLL, the production company, stated, "This is an example that shows how the traditional format of K-dramas can be appealing to global audiences."

The simultaneous broadcast in Korea and Japan particularly draws attention. SLL also remarked, "We will continue to expand the realm of K-content with diverse offerings."

Meanwhile, "Lady Ok's Tale" is a survival con drama, revolving around a woman for whom everything is false and the man willing to risk his life to protect her.
