"Even Kkwajjjoo can be happy!"… First Asian to be nominated for 'Tony Award for Best Actor'
Daniel Dae Kim, a Korean-American actor known in the Republic of Korea as 'Kkwajjjoo,' has been nominated for the 'Tony Award' for Best Actor, making him the first Asian to achieve this honor.
According to the online media Nextshark on the 7th (local time), Daniel Dae Kim made history for Asian actors by being named a candidate for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play at the Tony Awards on the 1st.
Daniel Dae Kim has been recognized for his acting ability by portraying playwright David Henry Hwang in the Broadway revival 'Yellow Face.'

The play 'Yellow Face,' in which he participated, is also nominated for 'Best Revival of a Play,' and fellow cast member Francis Jue is nominated for 'Best Featured Actor in a Play.'
This year's Tony Awards saw Kim and Jue nominated alongside seven other Asian actors, setting a record for the largest number of nominations for Asian actors in history.
Additionally, Asian nominees Conrad Ricamora, Darren Criss, Nicole Scherzinger, Tala Ashe, and Marjan Neshat are also considered contenders for the award.

To date, only four Asian performers have won Tony Awards: Wong, Lea Salonga, Michael Aronov, and Ruthie Ann Miles.
The shining moments of Asian actors can be witnessed live at the Tony Awards, which will be broadcast on the 8th of next month.
Meanwhile, actor Daniel Dae Kim is known in the Republic of Korea for his famous line "Paper towel is yogi-ing-ne," or simply "Kkwajjjoo."
Having gained fame through the American drama 'Lost,' he also starred in 'Hawaii Five-0,' continuing to win the love of fans.
