Actor Kwak Dong-yeon has decided on his next project after tvN's 'Queen of Tears.' Blitzway Studio announced on the 15th, "Kwak Dong-yeon is returning to the stage. He will be performing in 'Waiting for Godot-While Waiting for Godot,' which is set for its domestic premiere."
'Waiting for Godot-While Waiting for Godot' is an homage to 'Waiting for Godot.' The setting is a theater dressing room, depicting the characters of understudy actors Esther and Val.
A unique cast has been assembled. The same roles are presented at different ages. For example, Lee Soon-jae plays the experienced Esther, while Kwak Dong-yeon plays the young bossy Esther.
Two combinations of the cast are set. Kai and Choi Min-ho are double cast to play the rookie Val opposite Lee Soon-jae. Park Jung-bok will portray the late-blooming new recruit Val.
Kwak Dong-yeon first appeared on the theater stage as Michael in 'Elephant Song' in 2017. He has since performed in the same production three times, in 2019 and 2023.
He is returning to the stage after a year. His agency stated, "We kindly ask for your anticipation for Kwak Dong-yeon’s return to theater after his impactful performance in 'Queen of Tears.'"
Meanwhile, tickets for 'Waiting for Godot-While Waiting for Godot' will go on sale on various ticketing sites from the 23rd.
