A Korean man who jumped over a collapsed 52-story bridge… Hearing about the situation at that time
In Bangkok, Thailand, while an earthquake occurred, the story of a Korean man who jumped over a fallen bridge with the determination to save his family has been reported.
According to a KBS report on the 1st, 38-year-old Kwon Young-jun was living in a high-rise condo in Bangkok with his Thai wife and their daughter who had just turned one.
Kwon recounted, "I went to the fitness center in Building C to exercise alone while my family was at home."
He continued, "Less than 10 minutes after I started exercising, I heard a tremendous noise from the sky and the ground started shaking. At that moment, I thought of my family while feeling scared."
To reach his family in Building B, Kwon had no choice but to cross the bridge.
He shared, "Looking back now, I don't know how I jumped. I felt the bricks on the floor shifting, but I ran at full speed. There was a moment when the bridge wobbled and almost broke, but I think that’s when I made my jump."
At that time, his wife had safely evacuated outside with their daughter and mother-in-law, and Kwon found out about this only after crossing the bridge.

Kwon stated, "I heard that elevators are dangerous in situations like this, so I went down the stairs. Eventually, I was so exhausted that I almost rolled down. My arms got scratched, but when I went outside and saw my wife and child, I felt really thankful."
As this story circulated, Kwon reportedly earned the title of 'National Husband' in Thailand.
In conclusion, he expressed, "I think of it as a second chance at life and will live more diligently," eliciting warmth from those who heard him.
