Korean Influencer Claims Unlawful Detention in Malaysia
Recently, Korean travel influencer A, who has 20,000 followers, posted a video on social media claiming to have been unlawfully detained in Malaysia and sought help.
A stated through their social media from the 7th to the 9th, "I was illegally detained in Malaysia," requesting assistance.
A claimed that on a flight from Bali, Indonesia to Hong Kong, they were subjected to racial slurs and physical threats by a foreign passenger B, and when they rejected these behaviors, they were labeled as the problematic individual.

A explained that upon arriving at the transit airport in Malaysia, local police arrested both B and themselves.
Release of Footage of Detention and Claims of Human Rights Violations
A claimed that even after showing the police a two-hour video evidence of B's inappropriate behavior, it was ignored, and they were instead portrayed as the perpetrator, ending up in a facility housing serious criminals.
Additionally, A reported that local police had damaged their iPhone 16 Pro and inflicted violence, leaving them covered in bruises.
They further stated, "I was incarcerated in a prison with serious criminals, enduring severe human rights violations. I recorded evidence with a secret phone and wanted to convey my unjust situation through the video."

In fact, the video that A released shows individuals in orange and purple prison uniforms living in what appears to be a correctional facility.
A lamented, "The police secretly filmed while I was sleeping. They twisted my arms and tightened the handcuffs so much that I think I've damaged the nerves in my wrist. I can't fully extend my fingers now. I am not even a criminal, yet I'm unlawfully detained in a prison, just given a lump of rice and tap water, violating my human rights."
They continued, "I was placed in the same prison as violent offenders. I actually shouted to be let out, but a nearby murderer threatened me, saying, 'If you don’t shut up, killing someone like you is nothing.' The police yelled that if I resisted further and didn't pay a large sum of money, I would be sent to an even worse prison."
In conclusion, A requested, "I would appreciate it if many people could share this so everyone can be aware of the terrible atrocities of the Malaysian police and to prevent further unjust victims from South Korea."
Since the 9th, no additional posts have been made on their social media account, raising concerns about their current situation.
Regarding this incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea stated to Yonhap News TV, "Our consulate has been providing necessary consular support, including consular interviews, since we became aware of the incident," adding that, "Specific details are personal information, so we cannot confirm them."
