Intensifying Internal Conflicts within the People Power Party, Chairman Kim Yong-tae Requests "General Meeting by Reform Agenda"
On the 11th, Kim Yong-tae, the Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, expressed strong regrets about the cancellation of the general meeting of lawmakers that occurred without prior consultation and officially requested to hold general meetings by reform agenda. This situation shows that conflicts surrounding internal reform discussions within the party are intensifying.
Intensification of Conflicts Surrounding Reform Discussions
Chairman Kim revealed through his social media accounts that he received a text message stating, "Today, the general meeting of lawmakers was canceled without any prior consultation."

He emphasized, "It is truly unfortunate that even discussions on reform proposals are being blocked at the general meeting." Kim also stated, "I request the holding of general meetings by reform agenda items, such as the timing of the party convention and the nullification of the party's stance against impeachment."
Conflicting Opinions Among Party Leadership and Divergent Interpretations Regarding Meeting Cancellation
The People Power Party initially announced that it would hold a general meeting of lawmakers at 2 PM that day but suddenly decided to cancel it in the afternoon.
Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong explained that the cancellation was a measure to prevent division within the party. However, Chairman Kim Yong-tae’s camp sees it differently.

They claim that the floor leadership unilaterally canceled the meeting after a favorable shift in lawmakers' sentiments regarding the reform proposals suggested by Chairman Kim.
According to the party's constitution and regulations, a general meeting must be convened by the floor leader when deemed necessary or upon request from one-tenth of the sitting representatives or upon the request of the Supreme Council. The cancellation of the general meeting was made under these internal party regulations, but interpretations of its background vary within the party.
Earlier, on the 9th, the People Power Party also held a general meeting, engaging in heated discussions for about five hours on Chairman Kim's position, the nullification of the party's stance against impeachment, and party audits related to the change of presidential candidates, among other 'five reform proposals.' The cancellation of this general meeting is interpreted as evidence that conflicts surrounding internal reform discussions have not yet been resolved.
