Actors Kim So-hyun and Chae Jong-hyeop portray a fateful romance.

On the 8th, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Is It a Coincidence?' (written by Park Geu-ro, directed by Song Hyun-wook) released still cuts of Kim So-hyun (as Hong Joo) and Chae Jong-hyeop (as Kang Hoo-young). The two are set to evoke memories of first love.

'Is It a Coincidence?' is based on a webtoon of the same name. It tells the story of a clumsy and shabby first love that is re-encountered after 10 years by chance, leading to a fateful entanglement and rekindled romance.

The still cuts capture the timeline from when the first love began at age 19 up to age 29. First is the first meeting of Hong Joo and Hoo-young in front of the school gate. Hong Joo is seen placing Hoo-young’s arm around her shoulders with a natural smile. In contrast, Hoo-young wears an uncomfortable expression.

Hoo-young, with his striking looks and sharp mind, captures attention wherever he goes. However, he is a dry and cynical character. Hong Joo is impulsive and quirky, once even handing a love letter to Hoo-young in front of the men's restroom.

The two meet again at a blind date after 10 years. While Hoo-young is flustered, Hong Joo remains composed. Subsequent photos capture the sparkling look in Hong Joo’s eyes as she holds Hoo-young’s shoulder.

It reminds us of her fearless pursuit during their school days. Hong Joo, who fell in love for the first time in her third year of high school and became skeptical of love after a harsh breakup, experiences change when she meets Hoo-young again after 10 years, who witnessed her awkward past.

Hoo-young also recalls forgotten memories of his first love upon returning to Korea after 10 years. He faces a wave of intense emotions. What secrets lie hidden in their 19-year-old selves?

Kim So-hyun and Chae Jong-hyeop aim to evoke viewers' memories of first love. Kim So-hyun shared, "Chae Jong-hyeop's cheerful nature always made the atmosphere on set bright. I enjoyed filming thanks to him."

Chae Jong-hyeop added, "Kim So-hyun's portrayal of Hong Joo made the character more lovable and charming. Every scene with Hong Joo was enjoyable and fun. At times, I even relied on her," he confessed.

'Is It a Coincidence?' premieres on the 22nd at 8:40 PM.
