The People Power Party strongly criticized independent lawmaker Kim Sang-wook for declaring support for the Democratic Party's presidential candidate Lee Jae-myung.
On the 16th, Park Min-young, the spokesperson for the People Power Party, appeared on YTN's 'News UP' and sharply criticized, "It is very awkward and unnatural for Kim to use the term conservative."

The spokesperson raised issues regarding Kim's political background, stating, "He was assigned to the Ulsan constituency through a quota system, not by his own merits."
He further escalated his criticism by asserting, "He has maintained his position as a lawmaker by over-inflating himself through the People Power Party's banner and gaining recognition from voters."
"When the party is struggling, he kept silent…" Strong backlash from the People Power Party
Park expressed dissatisfaction with Kim's political actions, stating, "He has shown a complete disregard for the party's consensus, and even though we did not take any special actions for his expulsion or punishment, he continues to convey self-destructive messages."
Citing his experience working in the presidential office, Park claimed, "During the time our administration was floundering under attacks from the opposition, I have never seen Kim Sang-wook actively protect or voice support for us."

He also raised his voice, saying, "Even if we concede that the state of emergency was a mistake, aren’t the over 30 instances of impeachment and legislative abuse led by the opposition leading up to that a problem?"
Park emphasized, "He kept silent when the party was struggling, and now that the party has given him an opportunity, promoting himself as the only rational one is merely self-serving politics."
He concluded by asserting, "I believe his nature will not change, which will only cause headaches for the Democratic Party as well."
Meanwhile, on the 15th, lawmaker Kim Sang-wook held a press conference and declared his support for candidate Lee Jae-myung, calling him "the most conservative candidate." On the 16th, Kim visited Lee's campaign event in Jeonbuk to lend his support.
