Kim Moon-soo: “The moment the Lee Jae-myung administration decides to pardon Cho Kuk, the ‘downfall’ will accelerate.”

Kim Moon-soo: "Lee Jae-myung Should Work for the Fatherland, Not for the Former Justice Minister"

Kim Moon-soo, a candidate for the leadership of the People Power Party during the August 22nd National Convention, strongly criticized the possibility of a pardon for former Justice Minister Cho Kuk.

On the 8th, Candidate Kim stated on his Facebook, "Is it a case of innocence for pro-Lee Jae-myung supporters? How can the public tolerate the mastermind of entrance exam fraud, Cho Kuk? The anger is growing over the attitude of seeking to pardon the accomplices as well."

He continued, "While they went as far as to confront former President Yoon Seok-youl with a special investigation that trampled on human rights, they are rolling out a flower path for the pro-Lee criminals. The moment the decision is made to restore the Cho family, the downfall of the Lee Jae-myung regime will accelerate."

Democratic Party: "Unacceptable Remarks"

The Democratic Party of Korea reacted strongly to Candidate Kim's remarks made the previous day, claiming "there were no casualties due to the martial law."

Supreme Council member Jeon Hyun-hee criticized him at a Supreme Council meeting held in Muan, Jeollanam-do, stating, "Candidate Kim is the one speeding up the judgment for the disbandment of the party. Rather than reflecting on the insurrection, a party just waiting for the 'comeback' of the insurrectionist is the true enemy of democracy."

She added, "Claiming 'no one died during the martial law' and 'I will accept Yoon Seok-youl's re-admission' is a confession that the DNA of insurrection is embedded in his bones."

Former Supreme Council member also commented on Kim referring to President Lee Jae-myung as the "domestic enemy," stating, "Calling the commander-in-chief of the armed forces the enemy is a serious crime corresponding to defamation, insult, and violation of the National Security Act," and announced plans for a potential complaint.

Remarks on Accepting Former President Yoon's Re-admission at a Conservative YouTuber Debate

Supreme Council member Kim Byeong-joo also pointed out, "Candidate Kim has once again defended the insurrection. If insurrectionist Yoon Seok-youl wants re-admission, he's declared he would accept him, even proclaiming 'Yoon Again.' This is utterly insane."

Earlier, Candidate Kim mentioned at a debate hosted by a conservative YouTuber, "Hasn't former President Yoon's martial law resulted in no deaths or injuries?" and "The domestic enemy is Lee Jae-myung; if you consider both Koreas, it's Kim Jong-un." He also publicly stated his intention to accept former President Yoon's re-admission.
