Kim Moon-soo, Candidate for Party Leader, Announces Strong Resistance Against the Ruling Party
Kim Moon-soo, the candidate for the leadership of the People Power Party, expressed his determination to carry out a strong struggle against the resumption of Lee Jae-myung's trial and to thwart the opposition party's internal strife if elected as the party leader.
On the 3rd, at the '6th National Convention Leadership Candidate Vision Conference' held at the People Power Party's central headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, he stated, "I will take the lead as someone who knows how to fight and win," expressing his resolve to protect the People Power Party along with its members.
He specifically described the current political situation as "a coup attempt led by Supreme Leader Lee Jae-myung" and emphasized the need to fight against attempts to dissolve the People Power Party.

He insisted, "The party that should be dissolved right now is the Democratic Party of Korea," while sharply criticizing the current government's economic policies. He claimed, "National debt is rapidly increasing, and we are facing tax burdens, price hikes, and a collapse of people's livelihoods," asserting that economic and livelihood recovery is impossible under the Lee Jae-myung administration's distribution-style economic policies.
Regarding security issues, Kim stated, "The Lee Jae-myung administration is undermining the Korea-U.S. alliance due to the controversy over the return of wartime operational control," expressing concerns over the possibility of U.S. troop withdrawal and security instability.

Emphasizing internal unity within the party, he remarked, "Now is the time for innovation through unity, and we need to pursue addition politics, not subtraction politics."
He pledged to become a party leader who consolidates the party's mindset with a leadership focused on harmony and unity, promising immediate operation of a local election planning committee and the execution of clean and transparent nominations if elected.
He also highlighted his capabilities by referring to his past experiences as the chair of the nomination review committee and the talent committee, where he saved the party from crisis.

He proposed specific organizational strengthening measures, including the establishment of People Power Party student organizations at universities across the country and the revival of local party branches.
Lastly, Kim promised, "I will surely win in next year's local elections," stating, "I will dedicate myself to the party and its members with a selfless attitude."
He referred to the People Power Party as "a great party that founded the Republic of Korea, achieved economic miracles, and fought for democratization," emphasizing that "the People Power Party is the only party that can lead the Republic of Korea to greater heights."
